As the incredible Teaching Assistant at STEAM for Vietnam

STEAM for Vietnam is looking for Teaching Assistants to help with the general supervision and management of students. You will work under the direction of the teacher and be expected to assist with the implementation of instructional plans.

The successful candidate will need to have a fine art background and be ready to work with children to promote educational, social and emotional development. The ideal applicants will be caring, patient and understanding. The Teaching Assistant must be attentive to the needs of students and be able to identify proper solutions when students encounter issues. You should have strong interpersonal skills, as you’ll be collaborating with other teachers, working with students and talking to families.

What you’ll do

Before live classes:

  • Research for class contents and support teachers to enhance class materials, video clips, activities under the support of STEAM for Vietnam and Vietnam Contemporary Visual Arts Academy.
  • Attend trial classes and provide feedback to teachers.

During live classes:

  • Provide support and guidance to students.
  • Maintain a supportive and safe classroom environment.
  • Support teachers to run class.

After live classes:

  • Give feedback on students’ homework.
  • Support other educational activities for students.
  • Give feedback about the class after each lesson.
  • Participate in training sessions on methods, techniques and content of the course.

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in art, design and architecture.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Open-minded, creative, problem solving.
  • Weekly time commitment for at least 5-7 hours, willingness to help on weekends (We are flexible on schedule. However, please be aware that most of our classes are on weekends
  •  Fluency in basic English (reading and writing).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching, especially teaching children.
  • Have prior volunteer experience.
